The \"Golda\" women's association<\/strong> is an unregistered association within the synagogue community of Magdeburg. It was founded on 5 Siwan 5770 (18.05.2010) and the general meeting of the association has adopted a constitution.<\/p>

The aim of the Women's Association is to pass on the religion and tradition of the Jews to women and girls. To consolidate the role and position of Jewish women within the family and society and to further develop them into an integral part of society.<\/p>

Special attention is paid to the dialog between the generations, i.e. grandchildren learn from their parents and grandparents, but also vice versa. Especially for our members with a migration background, it is very important that the children and young people pass on their experiences in their new home country to their parents and grandparents.<\/p>

Monthly events are offered on Jewish holidays, topics from everyday life, excursions to towns in the surrounding area with visits to the local Jewish communities, and much more.<\/p>

Only those who have a heart and a curious mind are young.<\/strong><\/p>

A heavy legacy of tragedy and loss, destruction and hunger, unfulfilled dreams and hopes, bitter tears of disappointment and pain and finally emigration fell to the lot of our compatriots, people of the older generation. Regardless of what they experienced, each of them is happy in their own way because they did not notice how the years flew by, unlike the deeply regretful person who feels every passing minute.
Compared to the past, the foreign country allowed them to live a dignified old age. But man cannot live on bread alone, even if it is spread with butter...
That is why the Seniors' Club was founded in our synagogue community in 1998.
Any member of the community who has reached the age of 55 can become a member of this club.<\/p>

Goals and tasks of the Seniors' Club:<\/strong>
1. understanding and appreciation of his heritage
2. deepening the Jewish way of life<\/p>

The club's work consists of:<\/strong>
1. to familiarize club members with the traditions of Judaism, the history and culture not only of their own people, but also of their country of origin.
2. promoting the adaptation of senior citizens to the country in which they now live.
3. showing compassion, mercy and care to sick and lonely members of the community.<\/p>

Philosophy of the club:<\/strong>
Life - this is not synonymous with breathing, it means acting. It is not the person who can count more years who has lived more, but the one who has felt life more.

How should a son of Israel be made? The sages say: a Jew is compassionate, humble, merciful.The Talmud says that a \"kind heart\" is the essential quality of a truly pious and law-abiding person. The act of mercy, with the conviction of carrying out the will of the Most High, has a religious character and is a fulfillment of Jewish law.<\/p>

The most important goals set by the discussion club for men, which was founded in August 2012, include<\/strong>
1. strict adherence to the norms of the Jewish way of life
2. showing affection and care for one's neighbor 3. fighting for justice
It was important to awaken an interest in all things useful, higher and moral in everyone present.
However rich a person's inner life may be, it is still not fulfilled if it does not contain the interests of the outside world, society and humanity.<\/p>

The discussion club invites you:<\/strong>
1. for \"round table\" discussions on current events in the country and the world
2. friends of chess to the chess section of the club, where besides the game of chess itself, the most interesting chess games and tournaments played in the country and the world are also examined
3. to screenings of major final soccer matches
4. to competitions for the best supporter and connoisseur of the sport, in which the<\/p>

Winners will be awarded prizes, which will be confirmed by the municipal board.<\/p>

Life has shown that a person who has come into contact with the tree of knowledge of the good, a person who is able to think and compare, will never be able to, and more importantly, will never feel the desire to return to the vegetative state of primitive innocence.<\/p>

The center began its work on 26 August 2014. The meetings take place once a week, on Tuesdays, in the community center from 10 am to 3 pm. Members who suffer from musculoskeletal disorders are brought to the meetings in a community vehicle.<\/p>

In view of their age and state of health, 10 to 13 people attended each meeting.<\/p>

We always celebrate members' birthdays at our meetings. We drink tea or coffee with cake, which is specially baked by the kitchen staff of the community. At the beginning of each meeting, we perform gymnastic exercises suitable for older people under the supervision of a professional trainer. Before each upcoming religious festival, discussions are held and the festival is discussed, with the members themselves preparing for these discussions. They do this with great interest and a sense of responsibility. Sometimes the rabbi is invited to these discussions.<\/p>

A total of 27 meetings were held between the opening day of the meeting point on August 26, 2014 and April 2015. Various games such as a checkers, lotto, dominoes, crossword puzzles and Sudoku are particularly popular. Members of the meeting point enjoy sewing soft toys or making one or two things with their own hands. They sewed various \"vegetables and fruits\" to decorate the sukkah. They created pictures. In October last year and in April this year, a garden was created in which flowers and herbs were planted. Many members love gardening.<\/p>

Jewish dances and songs were also learned during the meetings. All of this was done with great joy and enjoyment.<\/p>

Among other things, a \"Day of Humor\" was held, on which everyone told fabulous and funny stories from their own lives. There was also a meeting with a psychologist, together with the chairman of the sports club. We visited an art exhibition by community member Pawel Pisetzki and watched the movie \"Seekers of Happiness\" together.<\/p>

We completed idioms, solved puzzles for adults, played the game \"Who wants to be a millionaire\" and knitted without knitting needles. We talked about Jewish communities in different countries.<\/p>

Thematic lessons were held: on the 200th anniversary of M.J. Lermontiw, on the anniversary of B. Pasternak, on the anniversary of the French painter C. Monet and on the anniversary of the composer G. Gladkow.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
